Commercial airline pilots are required to follow a systematic pre-flight checklist in order to make sure the aircraft is functioning properly and important procedures are not skipped. It's important to develop a pre-flight checklist for your own drone for the same reasons.

Skipping a compass calibration or flying with a loose or damaged prop can result in injury to yourself or destruction of your drone or damage to your property. Your checklist will vary depending on the drone that you are flying.

I am including a sample checklist for this lesson that you can download and use as a good starting point or a template.

Feel free to add or modify this list to fit your needs. Part of responsible flying is being methodically safe. And one way to do this is by keeping a checklist and following it every time you fly.
